A Biblical Approach to Mental Health Challenges
Elizabeth Branch, Ed.D.
Dr. Elizabeth Grady Branch is a semi-retired educator and life-long learner. She is a graduate of Jarvis Christian University (BS), Texas Southern University (MA), and the University of North Texas (EdD). Her past careers have included the joys and rewards of teaching Literacy (K-college levels), writing (books, worktexts/educational games), and entrepreneurship (daycare/infant care owners, tutoring center). She delights in providing faith-based educational and entertaining settings and measurable materials to help make a difference in communities in the DFW area, especially for people that live in the underserved and impoverished neighborhoods. One of her major goals in life is to provide the necessary "tools to help all people reach their maximum potential".
Dr. Branch believes that everyone's mental health status can be improved, especially when they are given access to the right resources. She also believes that both therapy and spiritual immersion, which can be obtained through listening to gospel music, inspirational sermons, praying, reading scriptures, showing acts of kindness, receiving spiritual mentoring, engaging in encouraging dialogue, and laughter can be life-changing and assists with overcoming all mental health challenges! Furthermore, she believes that both intentional and unintentional acts of self-love and exhibiting love for others, as shown by God, can empower and strengthen our faith and importantly mental health status. Dr. Branch encourages everyone to embrace God's love, which will in return empower them, provide a direct path, and offer hope, joy, and peace.
