Sarah Cunningham, Ph.D.
Like David was unto Saul, Dr. Sarah Cunningham is a gifted, God ordained instrument used to soothe the troubled spirits of others in her capacity as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
Professionally, she is an independently licensed as a doctoral-level clinical psychologist in Georgia, Texas, Virginia and Washington, DC. She’s a proud alumna of the number 1 ranked HBCU by US News and World Report, Spelman College, and the dynamic, sonic boom of the south, Jackson State. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa (the nation's oldest and most respected academic honor society) from Spelman and maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA at Jackson State before graduating as the youngest PhD recipient at her commencement in 2015.
She was the first intern selected to complete a specialized rural and underserved Veterans track at the Jesse Brown VA in Chicago before completing her postdoc at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She later became the youngest Assistant Professor in her department at University of Mississippi Medical Center. In 2019, she took her talents to the Washington, DC VA Medical Center before landing at Deloitte Consulting, LLP, the world's largest consulting agency. At Deloitte, she worked as a Clinical Psychology Subject Matter Experts across multiple federal agencies including Centers for Disease Control, Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense and National Institutes of Health.
Presently, she is one of two African American clinical psychologists at the Atlanta VA Clinic, where she leads groups and sees patients for individual therapy. She runs an online private practice that is growing and thriving.
In service to her community, she is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She serves as the National Membership Chair for the American Psychological Association's Division 35, Psychology of Women, Section 1: The Psychology of Black Women. She credits God for every accolade and every good thing for she knows that all blessings come from up above. She praises him even in the hard times for she knows God is the source of her strength and he orders her every foot step.
